Organized donor dinner

The Civil Movement “Opre Roma Serbia” in cooperation with the Municipality of Bujanovac organized a donors dinner on Monday, February 3, 2020, at the premises of the “Rozafa” Restaurant in Bujanovac in order to raise funds for the construction of two houses for Roma families. Recall, 1/18/2020. two Roma families from Bujanovac were left homeless they lost their houses in the fire.  

The donor evening was attended by more than 80 people, including representatives of the municipality headed by the Mayor of Bujanovac, Mr. Shaip Kamberi, representatives of the private sector, including entrepreneurs from southern  Serbia, and representatives of the religious community in Bujanovac.  

Result of donor dinner:  

- The municipality has confirmed publicly that it will install the houses free of charge to the sewerage and water supply network.  

- The municipality has pledged to release a taxi to legalize the facilities of both families.  

- The municipality is committed to donating a minimum of $ 120,000 to the house building fund (this figure may increase depending on the decision of the municipal committee)  

- The donation collected at this gathering is 1545 EUR  

- Collected private sector donation on this set of 6 PVC windows, 4 PVC doors (entrance and room)   Opre Roma Serbia will continue to strive to involve representatives of the public, private and civil sectors in problem-solving and in the fight for the development of society.
